The Practice
At Martlesham Heath Dental Practice our aim is to promote dental health at all times so that together we can prevent dental disease rather than treat it at a later date. For this reason we recommend regular dental check-ups.
Over the years we have developed experience in all aspects of dental care and are happy to discuss any aspects of your treatment and answer any questions you may have. We aim to provide the dental care that meets your needs and wishes.
Dental treatment for our adult patients is carried out privately but their children are seen under NHS arrangements, which is free up to the age of 18 (or 19 if in full time education).
Our dental hygienist is able to advise on oral hygiene procedures as well as providing scaling and polishing of your teeth. This will help to ensure that your gums remain healthy which is the basis for good dental and medical health. A full range of dental hygiene products are available to purchase.
As a caring practice we take all necessary precautions to safeguard both patients and staff against blood-borne infections such as Aids and Hepatitis. We follow Department of Health guidelines on cross infection control and use disposable single use items whenever possible. All other instruments are cleaned and sterilised in our newly installed decontamination room and our sterilisers undergo regular verification tests.
You can make an appointment by telephoning the practice or calling in during surgery hours.
If you are unable to keep your appointment please let us know as soon as possible, ideally with at least 24 hours notice. This enables us to make alternative arrangements – perhaps to see someone in pain. There will be a charge for appointments broken without notice.
If you are in pain during surgery hours please telephone at 9am and every effort will be made to see you as soon as possible. Outside normal surgery hours the practice answerphone message will give details of the emergency service available.

Our team are here to make your visit as comfortable and straight-forward as possible. We are committed to continuing training and are all registered with the General Dental Council.

Dr David Bellamy
BDS (Lond.), LDSRCS (Eng.) — GDC no. 61826
David qualified at The Royal London Hospital in December 1986 and after completing an Oral Surgery house job there joined his first dental practice as an associate in Felixstowe in August 1987. During his time there David studied for a diploma in Forensic Dentistry.
In May 1993 David moved to Martlesham Heath Dental Practice.
He enjoys all aspects of providing family dentistry.
David is married with three children and his wife is a district and parish nurse. He is a member of the British Dental Association and undertakes regular continuing professional development.
Georgia qualified at Newcastle University in 2011, in 2014 received her MJDF Diploma from the Royal College of Surgeons, and has an MSc in Medical Aesthetics from Queen Mary's University London. She has spent many years training and mentoring doctors, dentists and surgeons in anti-wrinkle treatments as lead trainer for the London School of Facial Aesthetics.
Georgia is dedicated to understanding and implementing clinical best practice and attends national and international conferences.
Suzanne Saunders
Foundation Degree in Oral Health Science Essex — GDC no 106287
Suzanne studied as a dental hygienist at the University of Essex, although her career in dentistry started a number of years earlier as a dental nurse.
She is passionate about dentistry, periodontal health and preventative dental care and pursued her ambition of becoming a dental hygienist, graduating in 2010 and working throughout Suffolk and Essex before joining Martlesham Heath Dental Practice in 2015.
Suzanne is also a member of the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy (BSDHT).
Outside of work Suzanne is a very busy mum of three girls and enjoys spending time with her young family. She is very talented in sugar art and cake decorating.
